The precise gesture, the balanced proportions, the wood’s expressiveness.
Inspired by Japanese aesthetics and Scandinavian design, I honor the nobility of the material.
From the sketch to the final finish, everything is done here, by hand, in the workshop.
Collectible Artworks
Wood Artworker
Not strictly an artist, nor just a designer. Just a craftsman turned part poet who works with care and patience, using his own two hands, straight from the heart.
"My journey is made of travels, wood, and silence. A quest for authenticity. Each work is an offering."
I keep alive a know-how that is unique in Europe, handed down to me by Claude Luisier. Each balafon is a long journey: selected wood, precise tuning, vibrant sound. An instrument, a companion of music and silence.
It is my pleasure to present to you here this collective work on the masterpiece of François Roux le Champagne, Compagnon Menuisier du Devoir, crafted between 1836 and 1857.
Composed of approximately 17,700 wooden pieces, all assembled traditionally without glue or any metal parts, it remains, even today, fully disassemblable. Each side is different, and the piece as a whole embodies every possible and (un)imaginable challenge of the craft.
The result of more than twenty years of effort, it conveys a universal message: the material masterpiece serves as a vehicle for a spiritual message. Learning a manual craft thus takes on an initiatory value.
