AYA · KI # 4

Inspiration
The name of this series came from a free composition, inspired by the Japanese kanji «Aya» and «Ki» for their evocative and poetic power.
The Kanji «Aya» expresses the sophisticated beauty of silk fabrics; it evokes the interplay of light and transparency, the refined elegance of shapes and colors.
The Kanji «Ki» embodies the subtle spirit, the vital energy, and the soul. It also means tree and wood.
Aesthetics & Composition
Exhibition showcase in the minimalist Art Deco aesthetic trend.
Fully proportioned to the Golden Ratio, the shapes and lines are sober and refined.
The moulding is simplified to the extreme to emphasize and reveal the overall harmony, with a subtle lightness.
The woods used – Sycamore maple and Black walnut – create elegant and sophisticated games of color and light.
The slightly wavy and sometimes mottled grain patterns feature tight, quarter-sawn ray flakes.
Their subtle reflections respond to the warm and golden tones of brushed, hand-patinated brass, in a refined and delicate dialogue.
The matte-satin "velvet" finish enhances the overall effect, lending it warmth, softness, and depth.
The transparency of the glass emphasizes the interplay of light and texture, while the Washis – Japanese paper – complete the picture with a poetic touch, inspiring voluptuousness and serenity.
